HETSA

Founded in 1981, we are a scholarly organisation dedicated to promoting and fostering interest in the history of economic ideas.

We facilitate research, teaching, and discussion in this fascinating field. Key activities for us include publishing our refereed biannual journal, the History of Economics Review, and hosting an annual conference where researchers can present and discuss their work.

The History of Economic Thought Society was founded in 1981. It publishes the History of Economics Review, a refereed and ECONLIT listed biannual journal. The patron of HETSA is Mr Glenn Stevens, former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia.

The society holds an annual conference.

The Barry Gordon Prize and the P.D.G. Gronewegen Prize are also awarded on an annual basis.
